Road tripping is one of my husband and I’s favorite things to do. We love it because we discover new things about each other, discover new places together, and experience new adventures from wine tasting in the Texas hill country to trekking through waterfalls in Maui.

This road trip found us driving to quaint Fredericksburg. It is a funky little German town about a short 3 1/2 hr scenic drive east of Houston. We visited about 6 1/2 years ago so it was like everything was brand new all over again.

We noshed on delicious German sausage sandwiches, toured two incredible wineries – Becker and Grape Creek, hiked up through Enchanted Rock and perused the quaint little shops along Main Street.

Road tripping also requires some smart wardrobe choices as you never know if you’re going to extend your trip or not. So you need versatile, everyday pieces. Packing for this trip was fun because I knew it was going to be a little on the chillier side so accessories became my friend along with some of my go-to pieces. See below for some of my favorite road trip wardrobe

Day 1 of our Texas road trip had us in the car for a few hours so I knew I wanted to be comfy but still look put together. Cue the leather leggings and fish tail braid. The fish tail braid is super easy and always looks like you spent longer than you actually did on your hair. Be on the Look out for a tutorial on the blog soon.

Day 2 We spent out hiking Enchanted Rock in the early morning and then off to the wineries we went. Thankfully Enchanted Rock and our hotel were a close distance so the outfit changes weren’t bad. Since it was still a little chillier outside, I paired my favorite Free People colored jeans with a black tunic and this fun knit beanie. You can never go wrong with black, plus you always feel just a little more dressed up when you don anything black, right?

I’m a little obsessed with this Leo necklace I got from my sister in law for Christmas. It adds a touch of elegance to any outfit. Pair it with this simple Charming Charlie layering necklace and your accessories are complete.

Another easy accessory  are thigh high socks, similar HERE. Thigh high socks are a great way to add a touch of detail to any outfit. It turns these riding boots into thigh high boots and you’ve got different shoes already!
