As a busy mom and young professional in the workforce, choosing what to wear can be stressful enough. Throw two kids in the mix and it can get a little daunting. This week’s ChitChat comes from my sister, Marina. She’s the director of the Creative Minds Development Center and also has two kids — her son just turned 3 this month and her daughter is one.
“I have two kids so it’s hard to feel like I even have the time to be fashionable. How can I take some of my wardrobe pieces and feel fashionable while still getting my two kids ready?”
My advice for all busy, working moms is to invest in these staple pieces:
- A good pair of denim (white, black and/or blue) or dress pants depending on how casual or formal your work is. Madewell is the best for denim and I love Loft‘s choices for dress pants.
- Several plain colored tops. Like this, this or this.
- Two to three well fitted blazers. Here, here and here are some great options.
- Accessories. I love Wildbloom boutiques selections of unique accessories.
Mix and match these pieces, throw on your favorite accessories and you’ll have a week or two worth of wardrobe in no time. Now you can go spend more time with your little ones or get to work a little early.
