Rodeo Houston. America’s number one largest rodeo. The air is filled with aromas of barbecue and brisket and fried Oreos and funnel cakes. Houstonians don cowboy boots and listen to the best of country music. What more could you want?
I make it a point to go every year and deciding what to wear is the best part! Plaid? Floral? Cowgirl boots or booties? Jeans? Skirt? The weather definitely helps in making this decision. Here’s what I decided to wear to Jake Owen on Wednesday night for a cool, crisp evening.

The best thing about dressing for the Rodeo is that you will never be “too” dressed up because attendees run the gamut from Polly Patton to Kim Kardashian-esque. You even have your hipster crowds – gotta love Houston for that reason.
I always remember to KISS: Keep It Simple and Stylish.
I chose to wear my new Moto Floral Jacket from Target – I’m obsessed with this great find right now; a classic black fitted shirt which ever woman should have, like this one from LOFT; custom skinny jeans, I’m currently obsessing over Madewell’s Skinny Skinny Jeans; and of course my cowgirl boots.

Finish the look off with a classic red lip and beachy waves and you’re rodeo ready. I used Sonia Kashuk Satin Red Lipstick and my secret weapon to get these beautiful beachy waves is The Wand.
