For anyone who knows me, my birthday — well any major event in my life — is always a huge celebration for our family. My twin sister and I’s 30th birthday had to be epic. A little back story: Marina and I spent our 21st and 25th birthdays in Vegas and we always said we would spend our 30th in Vegas. Never thinking it would actually happen because plans change, life happens, new jobs open, babies are born (and on the way for my sister!) and Chris and I were in the middle of moving. BUT we stuck to it and spent our biggest birthday to date in the City! Now, planning outfits for this trip was a whole other job in itself. But one that I gladly took on. See below for my outfit inspirations:
- To Travel: My favorite traveling outfit and way to style my hair: a shirtdress and a top knot
- To Play: A few casual-but-put-together outfits: a new flowered printed kimono and romper
- To Party: My LBD birthday dress and Coral Booties for the Britney Concert
- To (Live With) Psoriasis: The fabrics and silhouettes that I choose also have to do with my living with psoriasis. My psoriasis is relatively in control (compared to how I used to be with 90% of my body covered). I mainly continue to have it on my scalp and elbows. On this trip, I didn’t let it get in the way at all.
Right now, kimonos are very popular. Plus, they’re super cute and stylish. Kimonos are usually made with very light and airy fabrics. This is perfect for those of you feeling a little self conscience about your spots or blemishes and want to cover up at work or for an event coming up. Target has a great collection of affordable and stylish kimonos for your next outing.
If you haven’t jumped on the Romper train then now is the time. Rompers or jumpsuits are great for so many reasons. You don’t have to think of an entire outfit! Macy’s has some great jumpsuits to choose from. For those of you living in colder weather then you might be interested in THIS or THIS for your next travel play day or dinner for two outing in Sin City. Plus you don’t have to just stay in jeans or ugly turtles necks to cover any spots you may be concerned with.
